Everyday DC

What images come to mind when you think of Washington, D.C.? How does media representation of the District compare with the everyday experiences of youth in the District?

“Everyday DC,” a photography exhibition on view at the Southwest Arts Club in Washington D.C., from March 1, 2017 through March 31, 2017, explores these questions by visualizing daily life in Washington, D.C., through the eyes of over 100 sixth, seventh and eighth grade students from eight DC public middle schools that represent all four quadrants of the city.
